How do I play?
Every tile you leave disappears. Collect everything, then reach the Wallet. Keys open the gates with their letter, portals send you to their pair, and bonus gems are optional extras. Move with the arrow keys or W A S D, or swipe or tap an adjacent tile on a phone.
Is TokenHunter free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no account and no paywall.
What is the Daily?
One new board every day, the same for everyone. You get one attempt, and that attempt is the one that counts.
What is the Descent?
One endless run of boards with no last level. At each bank you choose: surface with what you carry, or push on deeper. Push once too often and you bust. Your records are the deepest depth you reach and the most loot you bank in one run.
Can I make my own boards?
Yes. Open MY GAMES · CREATE on the home screen to build a board, test it, and share it as a link. You can also put several boards together into a Series.
How does a hidden gift work?
In the editor, draw a route on your board and attach a short message, a link or a small picture. The gift is sealed with that route. Your friend opens it by walking the route, and keeps it by winning the board.
Is my gift private?
The gift is encrypted inside the link, so nobody can read it without walking the route. But anyone who has the link can try, and a sent gift cannot be taken back. A gift is for a personal message, not for passwords or gift-card codes.
Why do shared links look like tokenhunter.game/b/…?
A board travels inside its link, and one with a picture can be thousands of characters long. Chat apps such as WhatsApp and iMessage can cut a link that long, and your friend lands on the home screen instead. So when you share from tokenhunter.game, the game makes a short link instead. Anyone who has it can open the board.
Can TokenHunter read the boards I share?
No. Before a short link is made, your device locks the full link with a new key, and we store only the locked copy. The key is the part of the short link after the #, and browsers never send that part to us. So we can't read the board, its name, its clue or its gift. A short link expires after a year. My friend's link opened the home screen. What happened?
The link was probably cut short, or lost the part after the #, on the way. Share it again from tokenhunter.game so it goes as a short link, and make sure the whole link is sent. If the game says the link arrived without its key, ask for the whole link again.
Where are my boards saved?
In your browser, on this device. Use BACK UP in My Games to save them to a file, and RESTORE to bring them back or move them to another device. A backup includes your gifts' messages and routes in readable form, so keep it private.
Can kids play?
Yes, anyone can play. Making and sending boards and gifts is for ages 13 and up, or younger with a parent's or guardian's permission. See the Terms of Use.
Can I play with a keyboard or a screen reader?
Yes. The whole game works from the keyboard, every move is announced to screen readers, and there is a Reduced Motion setting. See Accessibility.
Does TokenHunter send my data anywhere?
Your progress and boards stay in your browser. When you share from tokenhunter.game, we store a locked copy of the link that we can't read, so the short link can open it. See the Privacy Policy.
